The Wand Pendant
A wonderful pendant made out of a piece of English Silver Bitch ROOT wood that we found while walking in Dorset, UK - in the autumn, when the field boundaries are ploughed, we often find bits of tree roots turned up, and make them into wands like this.
We carved the wood into a wand shape, the bare wood has been sanded smooth, by hand and given a coat of local, organic beeswax polish (it will receive another before it heads out to meet it's new owner). It comes to you with a generous length of waxed cotton cord with a reclaimed metal bead.
The wand measures about 5.5 inches in length, is drilled though the end so that it can be worn as a pendant, although it is also the perfect size and length for a travel wand.
The Silver Birch Tree is the first of the ogham trees and is associated with initiations and beginnings.
