In the art world, there is an opinion that humanity in its entire history has not been able to do anything better and more elegant than the creations of primitive people. I agree with this idea and admire the dynamics and liveliness of primitive scenes, despite their seeming simplicity and primitiveness. This era attracted me more than others when I was in art school and continues to inspire me to this day. This new series of pagan lanterns was created in honor of this great era.
The lamp contains elements of rock art from many different regions. This is a tribute to the era of the dawn of mankind, when we lived side by side with nature and felt the world around us much deeper. I deliberately removed images of people from the composition, which were an obligatory attribute almost in each of the rock paintings. Only animals and plants are depicted on the lamps, and the role of a spectator left to a person. Because to contemplate and be an observer is the best form of human interaction with nature.
And Algiz is one of the most powerful runes of the Elder Futhark and it is most commonly used as protection, supporting and teaching force. It is symbolized life, opportunity to grow, awakening, safe refuge, defense, connection with the Gods, guard against evil, resist bad influences and overcomes obstacles. Algiz rune is steadiness both spiritual and physical.

About Julleuchter.
The Yule lantern or Julleuchter (ger. Turmleuchter - «tower lantern») - is a mystical accessory, which was used for ritual lighting of candles during Yuletide (Midwinter celebration among Germanic cultures) and other solar festivities. The candle in the lantern can be placed both inside or outside according to the rite, time of year or your personal preferences.
In 1888 the Swedish magazine “Runa” was the first one to publish an image of this kind of lantern. The article described how the original was discovered during the 16th century in the Halland province on the South-West of Sweden. That original lantern is kept in the archive of the Nordic Museum of Stockholm (Nordiska Museet).
It was the first lantern discovered which is considered to be the classical design of the Yule lamp.
About me.
My name is Alexey Perko. In 2010 I stated a small ceramics studio and began producing Yule lanterns and other important attributes for domestic altars. Since then I am continuously improving the quality of all my items and service that I offer, so that you would have the opportunity to enjoy both getting in touch with me and what I have created.
Most of my time I work and live in my countryside home near Moscow. All the materials I use are absolutely natural. Each piece is handcrafted from scratch and inspired by many things, including the beautiful nature around us, Norse culture, pagan rituals, mythology and prehistoric art.
