Description
Dramatic and beautiful matched cane Venetian millefiori beads, with striking blue, white and yellow,"thousand flowers" canes. These are exquisite millefiori, really eye catching. They are old beads, dating from the 1920s, the Art Deco period, or perhaps a little earlier, for the African trade.
They were made in Venice where the slices of millefiori cane were applied by hand. This gives them their unique, individual character, with each bead slightly different in design and shape. The beads are fairly smooth, opaque and cased.
The necklace is super long and measures 37 1/2 inches, with the central bead around 2.3cm in length. The beads are in absolutely excellent condition, with just one of the smaller beads with a slight nibble. The necklace is set on wire and has a ring clasp.
This is a very striking, wonderfully designed necklace, with lovely, old, rare beads. The dramatic colour of these beads and striking patternis simply stunning. Don't miss it for your collection!
