    Description

Up for sale is this vintage William Lewis and Son violin.
It is in fantastic condition. There are no cracks or chips in the wood.
The neck is straight and free of damage.
    The tag inside says...
    "Grade 15"
    "1920"
"Made Expressly For William Lewis And Son"
    "By P.?. Paulsen"
At first I thought it said P.P. Paulsen, however the second initial is different than the other two P's. This leads me to believe that this violin was perhaps made by P.C. Paulsen, or Peter Christian Paulsen, a very famous master violin maker in Chicago until 1920. He made several violins for the William Lewis and Son Company.
    "Chicago Illinois"
